The Wonderland of Knowledge Wednesday - “Blindness”

March 4th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Okay, so. If you recall, the initial mission statement of The Wonderland of Knowledge Wednesdays was to prove once and for all that I, Ramsey Ess, am better than anyone that lived in 1968. This should be a tall order to fill. However, if they keep tossing me softballs like the entry for “blindness,” I’m going to keep hitting them out of the park.

Check this out.

Me: Blindness is an unfortunate affliction, but is not one that would make anyone less of a person or stop them from leading an otherwise normal life. Those that are blind are still valued members of our society and can do many of the jobs that anyone else could do.

I would also never refer to someone as “a blind.”

If there is a God, why would he make that minister a blind?

Thanks a lot, now I’m going to have my recurring Val Kilmer “At First Sight” dream tonight.
