In the late seventies, and then sporadically until today, Marvel Comics has published a series of stories under the title “What If?” Just as you might guess from the title, “What If” gives its readers a hypothetical look at situations that could have faced their fictional characters, for example, “What if Wolverine had defeated the Hulk?” or “What if Spider-Man joined the Fantastic Four?”

I’ve decided that I want to audition for Marvel Comics, and to do so I know I’ve really got to think outside the box. So here we go: what follows is a sample page from my proposed “What If…?” story.
