Christmas Man

Recently I’ve been listening to episodes of the Groucho Marx radio show “You Bet Your Life” from archive.org during my morning commute. In the December 21, 1949 episode (in case you are writing a book about my blog and need to cite your sources) Groucho interviews a contestant from Holland and they talk about Santa Claus and the differences between American and Dutch culture.

There is something about the phrase “Christmas Man” that I love. It is a perfectly acceptable description of this information: Santa and Dutch Santa are both men that are directly associated with Christmas and as such are Christmas Men. However, when I hear this phrase, this is the image that immediately comes to mind:

 

The fact that this is the image that immediately comes to mind probably indicates that I should seek psychological help.
